F.A.I.R.Y. Merch Illustration & Lino Print Shirts
Role: Illustrator, Printmaker, Merchandise Designer
Tools: Lino carving tools | Fabric paint | Cotton T-shirts
For this project, I was commissioned by the electronic band F.A.I.R.Y. to design a set of three illustrations for their limited-run merchandise at the Welcome to Nowhere festival. The band’s aesthetic revolved around upbeat, catchy robot-themed music, so I developed playful, mechanical-inspired characters that visually echoed the group’s energetic sound and tongue-in-cheek tone.
After digitally sketching the designs, I translated each into lino cuts, which served as large stamps for hand-printing onto T-shirts using fabric paint. Each print was manually pressed, giving every piece a slightly unique and hand-crafted character. The shirts were a huge hit—selling out on the very first day of the festival.
This project was a rewarding blend of digital illustration and traditional printmaking, and it highlighted the power of tangible design in a music merch context.
